Readers Blast Go 2 Guy For Latest Column On Huskies
On Monday I wrote a column for 710Sports.com in which I simply stated that I didn’t think the Huskies deserved to be ranked in the top 25 because of their easy schedule. They have yet to beat a team with a winning record.
Husky fans were outraged, correctly stating that Stanford hasn’t played anyone either.
Their comments were more entertaining than the column, so I thought I’d pass them along this morning:
From JL Wood: Here’s the headline for the Cougs: IRRELEVANT. Here’s a headline for Jim Moore: LEFT OUT. I always feel bad for skeptics. Even though they are sometimes right, when the believers are right, there is no better feeling as a sports fan. The Huskies could easily go on to be mediocre, but if they find a way to have a special season, poor Jim Moore will be “LEFT OUT.”
From Kiddenme: “It was a waste of time reading your pathetic, negative, childish article. Can I have my five minutes back?”
From RajuSeattle: “Don’t listen to this guy’s crap on 710 ESPN Seattle. He always talks negative about the Huskies. He should go to Eastern Washington and start on some other radio station. I am tired of this guy’s negative articles and commentary about UW. I hope 710 takes care of this guy and sacks him soon.”
From Eric Von Zipper: “Poor Jim, he used to have his daily pulpit to fire salvos at the Huskies, but sadly the P-I Couged it and went under. He then resumed his nonsense at seattlepi.com until that storied institution kicked him to the curb. Now on KIRO-AM, the Betamax of sports radio, he continues the fun.”

From The Last Don: “It must suck to be a Cougar. They are usually bad in every sport and have no hope to be good so they take out their frustrations on their older brother, the Huskies.”

Seriously Jim….you’re picking some very low hanging fruit when you pick on Washington and their football program. But maybe this is their year….to come within 20 points of Oregon. That is another great way to get under their skin.

I am tired of The Huskies living in 1991. They still get ranked on reputation and folklore more than genuine skill and merit. They are having a nice season thus far, can’t take that away from them but uhh the, “Price for Heisman” talk is garbage. Stop, really husky fan, stop. I think it’s safe to say that we see them settle down in the home stretch given the stiffening competition.

Your article on Monday must have really hit home. When people start acting childish and get emotional it means you touched on a sore subject. Too funny. I love to see how many people hate you with great passion, yet they read your stuff and write you personal notes. Keep up the good work Jim. Go Cougs!
Look at all the Husky Fans getting all emotional. Why do the Huskies continually think they own “this side of the state”? There are just as many Coug alums in Seattle as there are Husky alums. Remember who’s flag flew on top of the Space Needle Husky fans before you even think Seattle belongs to you.
Yeah, tell me about it. It’s easy to identify where the Cougs live around here. None of ya use the restroom or the bathroom.
What gets to me though is, you all wax how wonderful it was to live and go to school at Pullman, yet, as soon as you get that sheepskin you come back and pollute “this side of the state”.
By the way, that wasn’t a flag flying on top of the Space Needle, it was used toilet paper with the Cougar logo on it.

As always…………..”jack huskies” aka central alum/western alum/or local 9th grade educated numb-nuts trying to be apart of something. Funny story: In the local watering hole last sat. with a bunch of huskies….the loudest one of the bunch, when asked what year he graduated….”well I didn’t actually go there”, “but I grew up a mutt fan”. Well, with a few soda pop’s in me I proceeded to point out that being a fan is one thing & acceptable, but acting like a jack-ass without actually attending a class @ said university is just idiotic.
There is nothing better in life than maybe a fine scotch and cigar than lisening to husky fans bitch and moan when ever you write something bad about them. Go cougs.

Had to laugh at the ‘chat’ with Ryan Leaf in the Times today. Here’s a guy who is THE poster child of denial, drug addict, quite likely the biggest bust in NFL draft history, yet, in spite of it all he writes a book outling all of his failures and Coug nation makes him out to be some kind of hero!!! How bout Cougar coaches…….going back to Jim Sweeney, forget it, he can’t remember he was in Pullman. Jim Walden, in a radio booth crying over officials, can’t get a job………………Dennis Erickson, a drunk, DUI, can’t hold a coaching job. Mike Price, gets the job of a lifetime, and what does he do? Goes out bangs whores and does it on the Uof Alabama credit card!!!!!! Bill Doba? Wins the biggest game in WSU history and how is he rewarded? He’s run out of town……….Paul Wuulf?? enough said. For us Husky fans, Wuulf is God. He has brought WSU back to insignificance. And is keeping it there.

TDL: Thanks for stopping by the website. I’ll tell you the same thing I tell my kids every night when I tuck them in. Today it’s 37 days until we beat the Huskies in the Apple Cup. Tomorrow it will be 36 and so on. As Cougs, we’re crazy enough and – this year – good enough to beat your boys…though we admit it will probably be a high-scoring affair because there’s no way we can stop Price and Polk and ASJ and all of those other skill guys you have. But in the end, Tuel and Wilson are gonna get ya. Go Cougs.
My three sons are grown and doing well. Why, because I didn’t lie to them. Their formative years happen to be right in the middle of Husky national dominance. So I must give you the benefit of the doubt because you wouldn’t know anything about that.
We’re here this year, albeit in Qwest or Link whatever you wanna call it. But it’ll be loud and that kid that started last week in Pullman (and by the way, a stupid, stupid decision again by Wuulf) will be scared. Tuel is NOT the answer to the Cougs woes. They’ll be the tonic for the Beavs this weekend, THIS weekend you need to worry about because if they lose down there the house of cards come down. It’ll be closer than you think. God, you better hope they hold on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Huskies are improving a little bit every, every week. Like Ben Crenshaw said, ‘I gotta good feeling about tomorrow’, …………so when 36 days roll around we’re gonna be long gone and won’t be able to see the Cougs in our rearview mirror.

Love reading your posts, no matter how much you rip the Dawgs. I enjoy reading the other sides opinions, and I don’t take it too personally. I’m not sure how good the Dawgs are either and whether they deserve to be ranked, but I guess this weekend will be the first test. I’ve been let down so many times over the last 5 yrs, I am not confident that UW has accomplished anything until they beat a top tier team in or out of conference. Keep writing, but I do hope you have to eat crow after this weekend. Go Dawgs!!
