Even The Go 2 Guy Will Miss Husky Stadium
The last game in the current Husky Stadium is this weekend and I’ve written about it at 710ESPN.
And it’s not what you might expect, because I don’t think this is the time to be a smart-ass, wise-cracking Coug. I’m going to give Husky Stadium the respect that it deserves. So when you roll out the red carpet for Don James and the 1991 co-national championship team on Saturday night, enjoy every minute of it.

I guess I can see what you’re saying since you grew up going to games with your mom. But as a guy from Eastern WA, I hate that stadium. The most time I spent in the miserable place was when I was a Seahawks season ticket holder during their transition from Kitna to Huard to Hasslebeck. Hated being so far away from the action, hated the track, hate the middle school bleachers in the east end zone…. Love the beer garden though! Also love looking at the old pictures of its collapse.
I know the setting is nice with Lake WA right there, but I much prefer a place like Martin where no seat is a bad seat.
Kelven, agreed on Martin Stadium, every seat is a great seat. Still hoping Oregon tramples all over the festivities Saturday night. Go Cougs. Thanks for your comments.
I grew up going to Husky Stadium before I could think for myself and became a Coug. The only redeeming quality of going to a game there was tailgating in the Tyee area. It was the only true place to tailgate at a sporting event in this area. Had a lot of fun memories and the vibe was perfect. That being said, it’s the worst place to watch any game of any kind.
